Each year, the Mainichi Shimbun Economist Prize, under the auspices of Mainichi Shimbun Economist editorial department, is awarded to the authors of a book that has significant empirical and theoretical contributions. Selected from books published between January and December 2019, the 60th Economist Prize was awarded to Professors Fujiwara and Aoshima for Mechanisms for Long-term Innovation: A History of the RO Membrane’s Technological Development, wherein the authors conduct in-depth historical analyses focused on a specific industrial sector.
