Rapid technological advances, exemplified by generative AI, have fundamentally challenged the assumptions underlying conventional management, organizational structures, and human resource management. In an era of such rapid change, the value of academic research has grown even greater, as it offers a broad perspective on societal trends and helps us understand the wider implications of ongoing transformations. At the same time, the significance and potential of academic research in contributing to real-world management and organizational practice have once again come under scrutiny.
Against this backdrop, the Annual Meeting was held at Hitotsubashi University, an institution with a long tradition of practical scholarship. The meeting provided a valuable opportunity to deepen discussions on bridging the gap between academic research and business practice. The international sessions, first introduced at the 2025 Annual Meeting, were also held in an expanded format, further advancing this initiative.
