Purposes and Objectives of the “Science for RE-designing Science, Technology and Innovation Policy (SciREX)” Program

Purposes and Objectives of the “Science for RE-designing Science, Technology and Innovation Policy (SciREX)” Program
The Science for RE-designing Science, Technology and Innovation Policy (SciREX) program seeks to prepare, common to the entire program, scientific foundations for the formulation, implementation and evaluation of policies when promoting science and technology innovation, and to realize mechanisms to democratically and effectively solve problems confronting society.
The Science for RE-designing Science, Technology and Innovation Policy Steering Committee is discussing whether it is necessary to establish “appropriately implement policy options proposals” as an overarching objective for the entire program.
“Policy options” refers to policies that might be adopted, which have been analyzed for their economic results and social effects (improved QOL, social system innovations, remediation of industrial structure, etc.) and prepared as a “science and technology innovation policy menu” of alternatives that can be selected.
