Project Outline

The first wave of Japanese Managerial and Organizational Practices Surveys (JP-MOPS) was conducted in January 2017 as a Japanese official statistical survey. The target sectors of the JP-MOPS are manufacturing, Food and Drink Retail, and Information Technology Service sectors. The JP-MOPS is establishment-level data and the survey reference years are 2010 and 2015. The JP-MOPS followed the survey design and questions of 2015 US-MOPS and can be merged with other Japanese data sets such as the Census of Manufactures and Basic Survey on Wage Structure. These features allow us to conduct international comparison studies as well as advance our understanding of fundamental roles of management practices in productivity, human resource management, forecasting and etc.
